*we finally found the magic combo of 3 carseats that fit in the car. WOOOOOO. SUCH a relief, let me tell you. gave it a trial run when we went to my mom's, and it officially works. i attempted to take a picture, but it wasn't working in the garage, even with the wide angle lens. will have to remember to try another day when the car is in the driveway. =)
*a new magazine subscription : organize. yes. i have a magazine problem. no, i don't care. lalala.
*happy closet, happy armoire. baby clothes above in the closet. you can see the sleeves of ben's shirts peeking out, he has a low rod that runs front to back. the closet is double the width of the door, matthew's out of season stuff is hanging on the other side. the little armoire is filled w/ blankies, sleepers, onesies, and all of those fun itty bitty things...
all in all, it's been a crazily productive weekend. but i have been totally ignoring the scrap desk, and am thinking i need to schedule a little bonding time with it this week.
yes. i'm nesting early. why? well, i can still move around. i may end up sore and tired but it won't be as bad as it would be in a few more weeks.
so, after a day and a half of sorting through a bazillion bins, all of the newborn stuff is sorted out. and laundered and put away. there's one well labeled bin of misc stuff we'll need down in the basement, but since it's all grab and go stuff and i need to organize the places that it will end up, it's staying there for the time being.
we have managed to generate a LOT of trash and have already made 1 big goodwill trip... there will be another soon...
finding that we definitely have room for all of the baby odds and ends, even in our small house.. BUT that we've not been using a lot of the upstairs storage efficiently... so right now it's all about making better use of what we have.. and buying lots of baskets and bins so that everything has a clear home.
we've got quite a list to finish out the weekend.... but we'll break it up a bit w/ a neighborhood party today and a bbq at my mom's tomorrow... as long as we find a workable carseat solution i'm calling this weekend a major success, even if nothing else gets done!
the boys got to work today and got the crib put together. =)
that's one thing off the massive to do list. =)
(as a side note, it amuses me that we never refer to the baby as the dot when we're speaking... i just do it when i'm typing. he's generally just "the baby" in conversation. even worse, i have trouble remembering to use "he" since we didn't find out w/ either of the boys.)
the little man had his last day of preschool for the year on tuesday.... can't believe it. his end of school picnic is tomorrow, and we're crossing our fingers for no rain so it will be at the park instead of in the church basement!!!
matthew is off till after memorial day, so i got to go to bagels alone this morning. AH. so nice. and then i got to go to archiver's. where they did not have love, elsie out yet but i still did manage to spend $20 on a HS stamp, some HG baby boy goodies, and uh.... there must have been more. oooooh, some imaginesce border rubs that becca recommended, and an AL birdie stamp. and then i came home and got to go to the dentist (bleh) and have my gums tortured by a hygentist that is due 11 days before me. crazy. so now my teeth are happy and clean and healthy. and 2peas had love, elsie in when i got home so i did some more shopping. =) my next mission is to get my hands on some making memories funky vintage. scrapgal has some of it but doesn't have the paper by the sheet. GRRRR.
matthew's out running errands, the boys are playing dinosaurs, and i am attempting to pick up the house in between my "omg i'm 30 weeks pregnant and picking up the house makes me sore" sit down breaks. and matthew is bringing home dinner, so i think it's fair to say that all is well in gluestick land, despite the slightly sore gums. =)
and then turned around and make this while the boys are elbow deep in playdoh cakes:
and while they have some similar elements, they've definitely each got their own vibe going on.
