the last few days have been packed w/ halloween fun. hard to believe the holiday isn't even here yet - we've already got enough candy to circle the globe!
on thursday morning, the littlest monkey made his world stage debut at the preschool halloween program. they joined together in a rousing rendition of the itsy bitsy spider, and rocked the house with pumpkin bells. i love that it was exactly the same show that his brothers did when they were at this school.
that afternoon, we went to a halloween party at grandma's work. they got to trick or treat at all the offices, and then had cupcakes. can you believe these things? they were a mini cupcake stacked on top of a regular cupcake, and then covered in frosting. the eyes are suckers with gummies around them, with a m&m stuck on. holy sugar rush, batman!
friday brought harvest parties at the bigs school - and a pto family night w/ a halloween parade. i was in charge of the craft for alex's class and thought it would be fun to bring some fall-ish punches, bits of patterned paper, buttons and thickers for them to decorate little notebooks. but i totally didn't anticipate not being able to find plain notebooks! an hour before the party started, i was desperately cutting down typing paper and kraft cardstock and stitching them into little books. eeps. the kids loved it, though!!
today, however, will be fairly quiet. alex woke up at 430 not feeling too well, and was throwing up around 6. he's running a fever and still in bed. =( i'm hoping he can sleep it off. we have pumpkins to carve and football to watch, and i'm reeeeeeeeeally hoping to get my stack of finished pages into my new AC albums (i couldn't resist adding some of the new styles to my line up - i grabbed the embroidered blue and black & white damask).
happy saturday, friends!!
