i know i've been rather sporadic in posting.. with all the time at the ballfield, something had to give. and since it can't be the laundry (gotta keep them in clean uniforms!) or making dinner (they seem to want to eat EVERY.NIGHT. hmph!) or scrapping (mama's got to stay sane) or sleeping (chasing an undernapped 2 year old around the ballfield for hours at a time is tiring. big time), it's been the blog.
but. tonight i have my act together and i'm here with some sneaks for granny's cupboard. i have to admit that in addition to the main kit, i also got all three add-ons. and more patterned paper. AND more add-on patterned paper. and, um, for good measure, 3x more kraft, because i was out. this kit just has LOTS of good, classic pieces that i will reach for over and over. i also think it will mix beautifully with both homefront (which, when it's gone it's gone, so if you need any, you'd better order it!) and anthology (which is now in the SC shop). i've already dipped into it for bits and bobs to use on other assignments this month. i know i JUST declared joyland a fave for it's funky & cool edginess (and while it's sold out, you can still get more patterned paper and more studio calico paper), granny's closet has a timeless quality and matched just about any set of photos that i threw at it. love that in a kit! i ended up completing four layouts - and i'm hoping to do a couple more later this week.
this is a page about (surprise!) baseball. ;) it uses mostly the main kit + knick knacks, with a smidge of trinkets. i stamped the clouds in pumice stone - i love this gray, and it's perfect for the kit. i also used the tiny attacher and my fiskars scallop sentiment punch.
those tags? inspired by this photo and made using my photo label punch (LOVE!) - i just chopped off one end to make it a tag. which makes this already versatile punch even more versatile. i typed on them and then stapled them in place with my tiny attacher. i used pumice stone ink again, with the doily stamp (which is perfectly petite - i was wary when i saw the stamp image initially, but this little size is infinitely usable. this page uses the main + trinkets, i think.
this is my last minute "OMG how did i not use the honeycomb paper on a page?" page. i misted the making memories chipboard with a bit of turquoise mist, and added some stars punched with my med fiskars twinkle twinkle punch. this one is mostly the main + brads from linens and lace + the yellow damask OA patterned paper from trinkets.
and because the DT always gets asked what colors of ink & mist coordinate well with a kit - i tend to pull out a few colors that i think would work with a kit, so they're easy to grab. and i don't always use them all, but i thought i'd list what i pulled this time :
ink : pumice stone, mustard seed, broken china, tumbled glass
mist : turquoise, lemon, cherry, cream
april has said that they were unable to up their quantities this month, due to availability of some of the items.... so if you want granny's cupboard and aren't a subscriber, you need to be here at 12 midnight EST on tuesday night (the link shows the sold out april kit now - but it will rollover to may as soon as the kit goes live!). this one could be a fast sell-out.
and with that.. it's time for me to go to bed. tomorrow is a baseball free day - i need to be rested enough to tackle everything that didn't get done this weekend. =)
