ok.  i totally had a moment when the pink slip list came out. some of my favorites are being retired. the pinked circle? it's my all time, most used sc stamp. it's makes a good accent, it makes an awesome border, it's perfect for a journaling spot and i love clustering embellishments inside it.

i could show you any of a dozen plus projects using the pinked circle, but i'll be nice and just share my favorite. ;)

i can't find any projects that i can share using the tree, silhouettes, or pinwheel, (and the frame is already gone!) so you'll have to take my word that i love them. =) and a ps : if you buy just stamps mid month, it will show the usual flat rate shipping amount - but they'll adjust it to the actual shipping and credit you back.

aaaah, partly sunny. the sneaks are up!! this kit totally evokes early summer - everything is so bright and fresh, the heat isn't overpowering - it's pretty much the perfect time of year. both of these use photos that were taken last week - i love it when a kit is a perfect fit for what's going on right now.

this was my first page with the kit - it uses the main, - partly sunny, plus the first addon - rec league. the stamp set in this add-on might become my new favorite now that the pinked circle has been pink slipped. this page is so crazy simple you'll probably think you're in the wrong gallery when you see it. the sticker / kraft image are both packaging from a local bakery - it matched the kit so well i had to put it on my page.

this one uses partly sunny + front porch, the 4th add-on.  i was good this month and kept myself to two add-ons - which wasn't easy, with FOUR to choose from this time around. the canvas stars here were cut using my M and L twinkle twinkle punches as patterns.  and i might have a banner addiction - i made my own to go on this page. the background is misted w/ turquoise maya mist. there's another view of this page in the sneak slideshow. =)

so excited about documentary. i should be getting some to play with early next week, and we've got a blog hop planned to celebrate it's release - i'll share more info on that as i have it. =)

fuji friday : spinning

slightly out of focus, but i love the light.

and on the scrapfront...

i took down the big fence that seperated most of my scrap storage from the rest of the playroom (you can see it in pics here) while it was wonderfully effective at keeping little hands out of my supplies, it was a hassle to get to most of my storage - AND it became a deposit spot for all sorts of junk. so, out it went.  and now the littlest is obsessed with pulling my stool over and stacking things on my desk. he's been fairly good about respecting my things, but i realized earlier that one of my studio calico bird stamps has gone missing..  and i'm pretty sure i know who lost it. (and speaking of studio calico & stamps, there will be a new pink slip list in the newsletter tonight...  and some of my faves are retiring. i'll have to give them a grand send off speech tomorrow, along with my june kit sneaks).

this page was up on the studio calico blog last week, along with a writeup on how i got from an inspiration piece to this finished project.  it was fun to take the time to think about how i work and break it down into steps - though it makes me realize that i have some odd work habits. ;)

this set of cards & matching envelopes went up on the fiskars site earlier this week. i'm trying to get back into the habit of making cards, and trying to remember that they don't have to be rocket science - a simple design can go a long way.

also -  one of my fave pages of me + the boys was featured over on the scrapbook & cards today blog last week, along with some other beautiful mother's day projects. i took an IOU on a mother's day pic this year - i didn't shower till right before we left for the ball field - i need it to stop raining so we can get a photo of me + the boys. =)

speaking of the rain....  while i have to say that i enjoyed the first couple nights of rained out baseball, i'm paying for it now.  because practices have been pushed back and rescheduled and now the next couple evenings are looking rather complicated. i'm off to ponder when and what we're going to have for dinner tonight..  happy thursday!

ps : lorie just posted that there are more knick knack add-ons from may available - they found a box that didn't get sold.  this was my fave add-one - love that cloud stamp, love the color scheme, and those felt stars are too cool!  check it out if you missed it the first time. =)

rain rain rain

and cold cold cold.  seriously, it feels like early march here.  which makes it really hard to wrap my head around the fact that the bigs only have a week and a half left of school.

in the last week, we've had ball games and practices. we gathered ben's team together for a photo because their namesake team, the coastal carolina chanticleers is #4 in the college rankings and their local paper wants to do an article on our little league-ers here in omaha, home of the CWS. we had the school carnival, complete with a pie toss.  in which the principal volunteered to be a victim.

we've celebrated ben's birthday before the carnival on friday, and w/ my mom in combination with mother's day on saturday. i'll have to do an official seven post once i can quiz him on some favorites.

we had 4 ball games this weekend, though we were rained out on monday and tuesday. one of the dads on alex's team brought orange roses for the players to give their moms on sunday, which i thought was super sweet.  his team is the OSU beavers, hence the orange. =)

our ball games on mother's day were late, so the boys to got me breakfast from panera and we got to spend some time lazing around the house. matthew got me a necklace, sam got me candy (he'd been telling me, repeatedly for WEEKS - "i gonna get you candy for mudder's day, okay?"), and the bigs got me this photography book, which is fascinating & inspiring.

i was going to add some scrap updates to this post, but it's getting pretty long..  so i will save those for tomorrow.  happy wednesday!!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, april.  you started with the return of $1 drinks at mcd's, and ended with a day off school.  and held a whole lot of baseball in between. spring came - so many of these pics were taken outside.  definitely a contrast to the last couple months. we started staying to play on the playground after school on a regular basis.

and now onto may..  which is going to be PACKED.  ben's bday, the school carnival, field day, the last day of school, more baseball, memorial day... it should be lots of fun. =)

NSD fun at Studio Calico & Crate Paper

happy NSD!!! we've got a full day here in the gluestick house w/ baseball games and league photos - but i'm planning on squeezing in a bit of fun. =) i'll be chatting at studio calico from 10-11EST and might try and get a page going, too.

as i mentioned the other day, my NSD challenge @ studio calico is to scrap a photo that was taken with your phone. while they aren't high quality, i love my phone pics.  they capture a different side of our everyday life.  my page is a little ode to my new favorite photo app, hipstamatic.  i printed the photos small - always a good way to get your lower resolution pics to look better.  i punched a row of stars out of the rubon before adding it to the page - and i'm loving that effect.
