we're in the last week of summer vacation.
and suddenly, the weeks that seemed too long back in early june seem way too short.
we had a break in the intense heat last week and managed to get out to the sprinkler park and the zoo.
but now it's back to crazy hot (115ish heat indexes, YUCK) so we're mostly hanging inside.
though we did brave the heat to go to a baseball game this weekend. the heat index was 118 at the highest. it was still 109 at 830.
the stands had cleared quite a bit by the time the royals pulled out a win in the bottom of the 12th inning.
we, however, stuck it out till the bitter end. it was kids run the bases night, AND there were popsicles. we had no choice!
