candy shoppe is up! and if the presale is anything to go by, this one is going to go faaaaaaaaaast!! the kits have been staying in stock longer the last few months, and i don't think any of us anticipated how quickly this one was going to move.
i got all 4 addons this month, but my favorite was pulled taffy, with lollipop being close behind. i ended up not breaking into licorice twist for my kit work, but i know i'll reach for it for other projects. i also grabbed more sc + crate patterned paper and more color.
when i signed up to help with the sneaks for jawbreaker, i was a little worried. to be honest, i'm not really good at scrapping *just* from an addon and i wasn't sure this one, on it's own, had enough contrast for me. well, go figure, i finished this without adding any extra goodies and i love it. i can't get enough of these ki calendar papers! i started by arranging my photos in the calendar grid, and then adding little bits and pieces around them.
(jawbreaker + lemon drop ink + mister huey's sunshine + mister huey's dark calico + maya road iridescent pearl + martha starry sky all over punch + tiny attacher + slice & handwritten cart+ foam adhesive)
when i saw the crate rainbow + the sc cloud stamps, i knew i had to do a page about my little puddle stomper. this child can seriously find a puddle anywhere. i misted the cardstock with lunch tray and calico white for a rainsplattered effect, then went over it with iridescent pearl for some shimmer. the gems in candy shop made perfect raindrops for my clouds.
(candy shoppe + fiskars cloud in L and XL + versamark ink + white embossing powder + tiny attacher + mister huey's lunch tray + mister huey's sunshine + mister huey's calico white + maya road iridescent pearl + slice & handwritten cart + foam adhesive)
a 2 pager! i'm glad this one and i came to terms, it was ugly for a while. ;) once i moved the big pic to the second page instead of trying to make it be the main pic, it worked. it just wasn't meant to be a focal pic! i trimmed the ribbon bit off the sc rubons so they were just starbursts & used them as accents around the page. the little yellow dots came from the fine and dandy trim - i just cut them off and stitched them to the page.
(candy shoppe + pulled taffy + lollipop + mister huey's calico white + mister huey's bluegrass + vintage doily punch + slice & noteworthy cart + tiny attacher)
this one's pretty clean lined - for me at least. =) the page was inspired by the sun peeking through the clouds in the MME paper, and i built from there. the tone on tone journaling block was inspired by my inability to type it correctly the first time. ;) i love the size of those sass letters, and i love the effect of using the two different patterns together.
(candy shoppe + pulled taffy + lollipop + circle punch + L and XL cloud punches + tumbled glass ink + mister huey's calico white + foam adhesive)
so that's candy shoppe! as always, if you have any questions, ask away! oh, and don't forget to stop by the sc blog to enter the reveal night giveaway!
ps : i managed to get the scraproom mess *sort* of contained today. the drawers are shut and the stuff on the floor was picked up, and i vaccuumed up all the stray bits of thread and paper. we won't talk about what the top of my desk looks like, okay? ;) i'm glad so many of your appreciated my mess - lol!
before i go, i have to share some pics of my littlest goofball. he celebrated his half birthday at preschool yesterday, so i have yet another set of birthday crown pics to add to my collection. but, um, these pics are definitely originals.
sam took a book to add to the preschool library - we picked can i play outside, which is an elephant and piggie book by mo willems. we <3 this series. i got to go up and read it to his class, and there was a lot of giggling.
his actual half birthday is saturday - i can't believe he's halfway to four. he needs to slow down!! also? so scrapping these, SOON.
happy friday, everyone! i'm leaving for CHA on saturday morning, so there may be nothing here until i get back tuesday night. i had planned to schedule a couple posts for while i was gone, but i haven't made it that far down my to do list! so have a good weekend and i'll see you all when i get back.
