everytime i get behind in this project, i go through the same range of emotions. i get overwhelmed when i think about catching up. then i start to dread working on it. then i man up, get photos printed, and get to work. and once i'm done, i'm relieved that i just DID it rather than worry about what week it was.
week 3 // january 14-20 : nice weather. my class. new school tours for alex and sam. girl scout cookies and fractions.
i recently ordered some of the new elle's studio from 2peas and put it to use on this week. if you love elle's, be sure to tune in on friday. ;)
the "hello" and "cool" accents were both ones that i'd cut with my cameo a few weeks ago. i love having them precut - makes it so easy just to add one to my week!
i'm kind of obsessed with making my own journaling cards using digital accents & templates from 2peas. more on that at the bottom of the post. =)
teeshirts. in JANUARY. crazy.
that OA fraction card was perfect since the bigs are both doing fractions in math right now.
and here's another look at the handstitched tags by amy tan - she's got a whole exclusive collection of them at 2peas. i am not patient when it comes to handstitching, so i love that i can get the look without the work!
so. those journaling cards. as i mentioned, OBSESSED. it started with recoloring existing cards. and then i realized that i could combine elements to make my own. and i'm having such fun with it! i will be doing a full how to tutorial over at 2peas in march. it really isn't that hard, and with all the amazing digi kits out there, it's easy to make them to fit your own personal style.
the cards above were made using this template kit from chrissy w. every part of the design is on a different layer, making it easy to tweak each element. i used background papers from jen martakis's lined kit, chevron patterns from erica hernandez's chevol kit, and a couple elements from one of lauren reid's kits.
these were made with jen martakis's lined kit - and the big words cards were majorly inspired by marcy penner.
happy wednesday!! i've been playing along with ali edwards & doing a day in the life today. lots of photos have been taken. mostly iphone shots, but i've brought out the 60d a few times as well. i was thinking i'd just add them to my PL album as an insert, but now i'm leaning towards doing a quick mini. if you're doing a day in the life, what are your plans for the pics?
