oh hey, project life, remember me? i may have sort of buried you in patterned paper from other projects, then went on vacation, then came home and stacked more stuff on you. oops. but i've unburied you now and maybe we can see each other more often?

but seriously. i need to get back into a pattern of printing out weeks and working on them as i have a bit of spare time. summer does not grant me many uninterrupted chunks of work time, so i have to adapt. yes, i'm aware that summer is more than half over at this point. ha.

for my july class, i'm talking about using paper scaps and 6x6 pads, and ways to make weeks go together quickly. my fabulous guests this month are celine navarro and laura o'donnell - you can check out their weeks here (celine) and here (laura). week 25 // june 16th - june 22nd : last ball games. a CWS game. legos. guitar homework. popsicles, ice cream bars and riding a bike.

as i putting this week together, i had to remind myself to find the balance between the big cool events (last ball games, cws), and the everyday over and over stuff (legos, popsicles).

also, as i went through my notes for the last few weeks, i noticed a downward trend in photo taking (well, aside from our vacation!). i MUST get back on track there.

one more thing - i'll have a tutorial up on the 2peas blog soon on how i made erica's 4x6 layers cards into digital cuts. totally thrilled that this worked out because i love her designs!

happy monday! we were up and out early to get ben to camp for the day... hoping to take advantage of having just 2 around and getting some errands knocked out. ;) i also have a clean desk with 3 mostly finished pages on it. i'd love to get those done so i can move onto more trendspotting LOs. hope your monday is productive as well! =)

wednesday! already. wow. i'd kind of like to rewind a day or two, this week has been packed. mostly in a good way, but i could go for a lazy morning. or six.

kelly noel and i have spent a lot of time chatting and brainstorming about our trendspotting class at studio calico..  finalizing all of the fun we'll be bringing you. we each wanted to share some peeks today. here's one of my pages for the class. definitely digging the assignments - they make it a little easier to jump into trying new trends without them taking over the page. can you guess which one this is for?? 

and yes. i totally had to grab kelly purkey's geotag stamp. she's including digital versions of it right now, so go check them out!! i used my cameo to cut the shape out for this page - it was the perfect accent. (ps : this page makes 2 sets of vacation photos scrapped - and we've only been home for just over a week)

happy wednesday!! today = getting down to business with the new studio calico releases. and running kids to and fro. and, if i'm lucky, figuring out what's for dinner more than 5 minutes before dinner. ;) hope you have a good one!

i broke into those vacation photos.  and the new clippings line that basic grey sent me. and then mixed in some studio calico and october afternoon for good measure. that's one set of jumping off the dock photos = into the books. ;)

oh, funky grids. how i love them. and for this week's memory keeping monday, i'm sharing insight into how i work with this kind of design. for this page, i used the strong horizon lines in each of the photos to help draw the eye around the layout. i have to admit that i'm absolutely in love with how this page came together & i hope you enjoy the video!!

vacation brain

1 day of planning and errands, 4 days in minnesota, 2 days filled with holiday fun, 1 day of downtime trying to recover from the previous week. and that brings us to today, and the struggle to get back to a normal schedule. this is the part of a vacation that i hate, but really? totally worth it. we stayed at the shing wako resort - and recommend it if you're looking to rent a cabin in the area.  here are a few favorite photos from our stay :
