the DOUBLE SCOOP presale is happening now... and as of this moment, all of the add-ons are available. woohoo!! my favorites were sprinkles & waffle cone - and the lindsey letters stamp set will be one that i use for a long time. (note : these links will only work for subscribers until midnight EST).
i love that the gallery goes up at noon now. it makes leisurely browsing so much easier! i'm planning to finish this post, then have lunch and check out what everyone made.
here's what i made this month :
brain freeze // scrapbook main only : oh, poor sam. the anguish of brain freeze. ;) this photo makes me laugh.
when i saw the tim & beck paper in the double scoop main, i immediately knew that i wanted to cut it into strips. I arranged them on kraft cardstock, then matted my photo with the gold doily. i added washi, label stickers and star accents between the strips of pp. the transparency frame was the perfect way to add a pop of color around a black and white photo.
be brave : oh, my heart. on the first day of school, i hung back for a second to snap a pic of sam walking in behind ben and two friends. sam stopped and turned to look at me and his little face... sigh.
the "be brave" stamp in the lindsay letters set was the natural start for this layout. i stamped the solid diamond in gold on the same paper that i used for the background, and then cut it out. i used that as a template to cut a few more diamonds from patterned paper, and i scattered them around the page. i stamped "be brave" on one and popped it up on foam adhesive near my photo.
the end : that dear lizzy frame paper? it needed to be cut apart and then filled in, right? that's how this page started. i kept it to three frames - they form a nice triangle around the page.
i printed two 3x4 photos on a 4x6 canvas - i love the way the black and white of the boys plays off the colors in the ferris wheel photo. i kept that same balance around the rest of the page - neutrals contrasted against brights.
july 6-12th // PL main only : it is summer. and i am BEHIND. i had a little heart to heart with myself before i finished this week. and i talked myself into keeping it simple. i dressed up a few of the cards, but overall, i went with simple and done. i love how it turned out - and i love that i got it done quickly.
i was a little intimidated by that HUGE pebbles alphabet stamp in the PL main - but i couldn't stop using it once i started! it's a quick way to add a little caption to a card or photo.
happy tuesday!! now that we're on the second week of school, i'm hoping to get back into a normal blogging routine. i feel like i have a thousand posts to catch up on!
