It's time to head to the Sandlot! The Creative Team gallery is live, the subscriber presale has happened, and the full reveal happens at midnight tonight. What's on your list this month?
NOTE : If you are a SC subscriber, you can shop for add-ons now. (If you're not, kit links will work after midnight EST) Remember, if you see "temporarily unavailable" under a kit, keep on watching. The SC shopping cart holds your items for 10 minutes as you shop, so many kits will become available as shoppers make their final decisions and check out.
Bucket Battle | Sandlot Scrapbook kit + Jet add-on + Color Theory Clean Slate & Mint Hint Ink + Tiny Attacher
There's nothing like a good splash fight at the lake... and last time, the boys took it a step further by breaking out the buckets. So much fun... and nice hat, Alex. ;)
Ah, the Jet add-on. Marcy helped put it together for her Mini Album Mini Workshop, but it's perfect for layouts as well. I love the stamps, I love the 4x4in paper pad, I love the washi, and can we talk about the star clips? The Crate frames are perfect for holding little bits and bobs, and made a great base for a grid style layout.
magic | Sandlot Scrapbook kit + Smalls Add-on + Color Theory Clean Slate Ink + Wink of Stella- Silver + Gold Brilliance Ink + Tiny Attacher
I've used this photo on a few different projects. It's an all time fave - I just can't get over how HAPPY they all are, and it reminds me of what a blast we had on our trip last year. When I saw the stamp set in Smalls, I knew I wanted to use it on an "overview" page for my Disney Handbook. The facts and figures were lifted from the back of our 2013 Christmas cards.
I stamped the castle with Color Theory Clean Slate, then brushed a little Wink of Stella on the turrets. Sparkle = magic, right?
Camp | Sandlot Scrapbook kit + Color Theory Clean Slate Ink + Tiny Attacher
There is SO much inspiration in the Studio Calico gallery, and this month, we decided to take advantage of it! Many of the SC CT dug into their inspiration books and lifted some of our favorite projects in the SC gallery. I knew immediately that I wanted to lift Katie Ehmann (aka A2Kate at SC), the hard part was narrowing down which project. I settled on this page - be silly - because I LOVED all of her layers.
When it came time to work on the project, I found that my layering skills are no match for Katie's -I opted to space things out and have smaller groupings w/ some layered elements. I may have to take a second attempt at lifting her page, as I love the look. In the end, I've got a bright and happy page to record one fun and muddy week at camp.
See that washi under the top photo?? The design was pulled from my favorite ever piece of patterned paper from the Studio Calico Here + There collection. I had to restrain myself from covering the whole page with it.
One more thing before I go - Studio Calico Scrapbook Subscribers have an *awesome* special offer this month. If that's you, check your SC dashboard for a code to use for 20% off any of the stamps here. I'm partial to the alpha stamps, but the House / House Guests ones are super fun, too. It expires at midnight EST tonight. =) Happy shopping!
Studio Calico offers three types of monthly kits - Scrapbook, Card & Project LifeĀ® - as well as add-on kits and shop items to complement them. A new kit is revealed on the 27th of each month (at noon EST if you're a subscriber, at midnight EST if you aren't). For more information (or to start your own subscription!), click here.

The boys are at grandma's and we have tickets to a Counting Crows concert.. so I'll just say this. The Sandlot kits make me really, REALLY happy.
If they make you happy too, you can pick them up tomorrow. And if you're a subscriber, bundling starts at midnight tonight. Which means it's the perfect time to grab the new Color Theory Acrylic Paint bundle. Check your dashboard for a special offer on them. ;)

I am a mama to three boys. I live in a world of superheroes and fart jokes and video games. I step over legos on a daily basis. I buy a lot of cargo shorts and tshirts.
Even after 13 years experience, I can't say that I understand them. They are noisy, they are sweet, they are loud, they are giving and oh man, can they ruin a pair of jeans in nothing flat. I can't imagine life any other way.
I'm contributing to a new website - Where The Boys Are. It's a collective of moms to boys, sharing photos and words that capture our experiences of raising men. I'm excited for this push to be more intentional about how I photograph our story, and hope you'll check it out!

Working | with the Studio Calico Sandlot kits. I said back in March that this one just might be a new favorite, and I'm still feeling that way.
Wondering | where summer went. Both in the OMG, it's less than a month till school starts and the why is it only 70* sense.
Researching | A GoPro purchase. It looks like a fun way to get another perspective on trips and other adventures. I love that it's waterproof, and sturdy enough I could let the boys loose with it. Anyone have one?
Learning | How the video feature on my Canon 60d works. Because looking at the GoPro made me remember it had that feature and that I have no idea how to use it.
Anticipating | Big Hero 6. We've all watched the trailer and can't wait to see it this fall.
Happy Friday, everyone!

I love using patterned transparencies on scrapbook pages - they add a lot of visual interest and dimension since you can layer items both underneath it an on top. I started this page with a neutral background and a transparency printed with white script. As I added layers to the page, I stuck with soft colors and subtle patterns that don't draw attention away from the photo of my boys exploring at Platte River State Park.
Here's a peek at how this page came together. There's a full start to finish tutorial of my process over on the Studio Calico blog - you can download it right here!
Supplies : South of Market collection - transparency, white tags, transparent stars, enamel dots, sequins, cork accents, labels, patterned paper; Penny Arcade Scrapbook kit - patterned paper (coral, gray & kraft), stamp stickers; other - Color Theory button, Studio Calico grid paper, Tiny Attacher

My "winging it" Disney Handbook has, at the present time, 3 finished pages.
We're going back in 4 months.
I think it's time for a plan. There's nothing like a deadling to motivate, right?
First up - editing the photos and coming up with an outline. Ready, Set, GO.
(animated gif made with the Photobucket app - and it may have been made while procrastinating on editing the rest of the trip photos)
